Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the product and billing.

How does 404Watcher utilize my data?
We requested the minimum permissions needed via Facebook Login to fetch your active ad accounts. We only scan the ads you select. We never edit your ads, modify your budget, or share your data with third parties. Your access tokens are secured using Fernet (AES-128) Encryption.
Is it safe to connect my Ad Account?
Yes. We use the official Meta Graph API and comply with all their strict policies. Our app has passed the Meta App Review process. We use appsecret_proof to sign all requests, ensuring no one can impersonate our server.
How accurate is the link checker?
Our system checks purely for 404 Not Found and 503 Service Unavailable errors, the clear indicators of a broken destination. Just like antibacterial products kill 99.9% of germs, we catch the vast majority of critical issues. However, specific server configurations (like sophisticated bot protection on your landing page) might occasionally yield a false positive. We prioritize avoiding false alarms over flagging minor temporary glitches.
What happens when a broken link is found?
You will immediately receive an email notification with the details (Ad Name, Campaign, Campaign ID). You can then log in to your Dashboard to see the full report and turn off the problematic ad in Ads Manager.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. You can cancel your subscription directly from your Dashboard settings. Your access will remain active until the end of the billing period.
Why did I get an alert for a paused ad?
Our smart filter focuses on ads that are currently Active. Even if you paused an ad recently, it might still have attracted traffic just before pausing. We alert you because users might still be clicking on it (unlikely, but possible during propagation), and to ensure your historical data remains clean.
When exactly do the automated checks happen?
Automated checks run every hour, on the hour (Prague CET/CEST time) for all paid plans: Solo, Pro and Agency Max. Every plan can also trigger a "Manual Check" from the dashboard at any time, which is handy if you've just launched a critical campaign.
Are payments and my card details secure?
Yes, absolutely. All payments are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy, one of the world's most trusted payment providers. You pay directly on 404watcher.com and we never see or store your credit card details on our servers.
Do you offer refunds?
As this is a digital SaaS product with immediate access to server resources and data, all sales are final and non-refundable. You can cancel your subscription at any time. We recommend trying the one-time Free Audit first and then starting with the Solo tier.
What happens if I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Upgrades: Happen immediately. You will be charged the prorated difference and gain instant access to higher limits.

Downgrades: Are scheduled for the end of your current billing cycle. You retain your current plan's limits until the period you paid for expires.
Why did my reports stop? How do I reconnect?
Your Facebook Ads connection uses a secure token that lasts 60 days. If you haven't logged in within that period, the token expires and 404Watcher can no longer scan your ads. Don't worry, we'll send you a reminder email 7 days before it expires, and another notification if it does expire. To restore monitoring, simply log in to your dashboard and your connection renews automatically for another 60 days. No reinstallation or reconfiguration needed.
How do email notifications and report frequency work?
By default, we only send alerts when a broken link is found to avoid spamming you. However, in your dashboard settings, you can toggle the frequency to "All Scans" if you prefer to receive a confirmation for every audit. You can also add additional email recipients there.
